Our Coaches

  • A lifelong avid baseball enthusiast, Serj has devoted most of his adult life to "the love of the game". From his start by coaching Richmond Bantam in 1989, attaining the Silver Medal in 2012 as the Head Coach of the BCMBA Midget SELECTS team, to implementing TDC's "Just Play Ball" Program in 2016, Serj has a genuine love for everything baseball. His current interest lies with ensuring the success of The Ballyard at Sports Central, the growth of the Richmond Little League program, and as recently as Feb / 2019, helping to introduce "BASEBALL 5" to the Lower Mainland on behalf of Baseball B.C. and Baseball Canada. In between, as the 3rd base coach, he helped guide the U13 Burnaby Braves to becoming the PeeWee National Silver Medalist. When he isn't engulfed in the local baseball world, you can find him practicing his golf game, travelling to Phx to watch more baseball, or, of course letting loose on the dance floor.

  • If you're involved in baseball in British Columbia you've undoubtedly run into Grant Rimer.

For 25 years Rimer has been a leader in Player Development throughout the province. His resume looks like the itinerary for a rock band playing concerts in just about every city and town and village from Vancouver to Kelowna, from Campbell River to Fort St. John.

It would take about 200 pages to cover the ground.  But here are just a few of the highlights of his illustrious career.

***He's a creator and lead instructor for the B.C. Minor Coaches Caravan that circumnavigates the province every year teaching and growing the game of baseball at the grassroots level.

***He created College Prep, the league that gives high school prospects a chance to strut their stuff in front of college recruiters and pro scouts.

***He organizes, coaches and holds together the annual 16U development camp featuring prestigious former MLB stars like Reggie Smith and Jim Lefebvre.

***Grant has coached at just about every level from Mosquito to Pee Wee to Bantam.  And always with a strong sense of caring for every boy or girl he's developed.

***He spent three seasons with the Vancouver Cannons, a team that became a powerhouse in the Premier League.  The Cannons sent three players into pro baseball, including Rowan Wick, who was rookie of the year in 2019 with the Chicago Cubs.

***But, most of all, Grant Rimer has always stressed coaching the game the right way.  Of course, he likes to win.  But his mission is to teach, using baseball science and his vast experience to develop players to be the Best They Can Be.

This earned him a full-ride scholarship to the College of Idaho where he played in 2.5 seasons, due to season cancellation from the Covid-19 pandemic, from 2018-2021. Matt started every game over the 2.5 seasons for the Coyotes, earning 3 player of the month awards as well as First team All-Conference and Gold Glove for Centerfield in 2021.
